Bookstore Date Ideas
1. Find Your Desert Island Book
If you were on a dessert island, what is the one book you would bring with you. For some this may be Robinson Crusoe, or an instruction manual for how to build a life boat, or a copy of an old childhood favourite.
This is one of my favourite things to know about a person as it gives me a good idea of who you are. It is also a great discussion point, and a great way to learn more about each other.

2. Choose Your Next Holiday Destination Just From The Travel Section
This sounds risky but also super fun, especially if you are on the adventurous side. The fun part about this is you can look at maps, travel guides, explorers accounts, history and so much more, and plan a wacky adventure together.
If you’re feeling extra perilous, how about closing your eyes and running your finger across the travel guides until your partner- also blind- yells stop.
This is something you can have so much fun with, and even if you never end up going, there is a lot of enjoyment that can be found in dreaming together, and talking. Although, I hope you do go, and have an amazing adventure.

3. Childhood Book Swap
Head to the children’s section and pick up that book that defined your childhood, the one you sat up reading all night, the one that holds a special place in your heart.
Find THAT book for each of you, and spend some time reading to each other. I think you will find this is a super cute bonding activity.
4. Blind Book Challenge
Go off in different directions, and find a book for your partner to read. This should be a book that you think they will really love, and then go home and spend a cosy evening tucked away, reading together.

5. Bookshop Café and Game
Bringing a pack of cards wherever I go has become a must, as you never know when you will find yourself in a café, with not a whole lot to do. Sipping coffee, chatting about books, and playing cards is a date in itself, and not to be underrated.
Sometimes, the best dates are the most simple ones.
