It’s not often I am watching videos on YouTube these days; it is mostly saved for when I am having a slow morning. And it is a real treat for me to sit down with my breakfast, and spend some time watching one of my favourite booktubers. So, when I do, I don’t want to waste time on videos that I don’t find fun to watch, and I know that when I visit any one of these popular booktubers, i’m going to leave feeling inspired, motivated, and with a heck of a long TBR.
I personally love watching booktubers as I love hearing people talk about books, and sharing my same interests. It is also great to hear so many passionate individuals out there, who don’t mind geeking out to books. If you read this blog, I know these best booktubers will be right up your alley!
Unlike other types of media, the best booktube channels leave you feeling motivated and inspired, and I rarely feel like I have wasted my time. Watching media in general can be a pretty good way to relax, and I love how this genre of video is low stimulation and peaceful.
I have been watching booktubers since I was a teenager, and many of these I have been watching for the last decade- which feels crazy!

1. Jack Edwards
Jack Edwards is a pretty big name in the booktube world right now, but I remember when his channel was relatively small. He did a series a while back which was a ‘celebrity book club’. In this he chose a different celebrity each month, and read all the books mentioned and recommended by them.
I really love knowing what inspires people, so when it comes to musical artists, I love knowing what they read! What inspires their lyrics! I truly believe the world is a big circle of consuming, interpretation, and creating. Books are things we consume- and that plants new ideas inside of us.
Most of his videos are discussion and review based. And trust me, his videos will leave you with a mega TBR that might just break the bank if you’re not careful.

2. Ruby Granger
Whenever I need a spark of comfort, I always turn to Ruby Granger. I love her videos, and started watching them when I was revising for my GCSEs! She has such a genuine and comforting presence, that I know that whenever I switch on her channel i’m going to feel as though i’m visiting an old friend.
Her videos are more varied than just bookish content, as she also shares videos on studying and routines. But her passion for books is what speaks the loudest. She mostly shares vlog style videos and day in the life’s which I find pretty perfect for whenever I am in a reading slump.

3. Throne of Pages
This girl is an absolute book geek in the very best way, and her passion for reading screams through the screen. Her videos are chaotic in the best way. Throne of Pages specifically loves doing reading challenges, which are so fun to watch.
She does a lot of 24 hour read-a-thons and often leaves her daily page count up to things such as uno cards. She also reads a lot of the classics- which I find super fun to watch as this is my favourite thing to read as well.
Her videos are very light hearted, and you will be sure to leave with a boast of motivation to finish your TBR.

4. Emmie
Emmie is a Canadian based booktuber, and I get the best recommendations from her channel. Emmie’s reading taste is the most similar to my own, and so I always look out for her booklists. Her videos focus on day in the life videos, recommendations and book hauls.
Her personality is so sweet, and I love how immersed she gets in each new read! She is a booktuber I turn to again and again, for recommendations, reading motivation, book discussions and insights, and bookish vibes in general.

5. GlutenBerg Bible
I discovered GlutenBerg Bible only within the last year, and her videos have become some of my favourites. I’ve been treating them more as podcasts, and I have been loving listening to her talk as i’m going about my daily life.
Her videos are such a vibe, as she often mixes cocktails with her reading recommendations/ discussions. And I always feel like a true intellect when I listen to her. She has a PhD in English, and often does deep dives on specific books, themes of genres.
I always learn something new, and her general vibe never disappoints.

6. Haley Pham
Haley Pham posts super cosy reading vlogs, and day in the life’s. She has even just written her debut novel- so a super well done to her.
Her book recommendations are very niched down to contemporary romance books- which- truthfully- are definitely my least favourite genre to read. Although I don’t watch her channels for recommendations, I love her booktube content on reading challenges, day in the life’s, and travel. I love seeing how she fits reading into her schedule, and I never tire of hearing people yap about books, no matter what the genre.

I love these booktubers because their passion for reading is genuine, and you can feel it through the screen. They are all positive content creators who are sharing what they love. Whenever I find myself in a reading rut, or whenever I have a quite moment, I switch on one of these best booktube channels and I always then feel uplifted and super excited to plan my next bookish day.
