16 Insanely Cute Spring Date Ideas You Must Try

Are you looking for cute spring date ideas to spend some quality time with your partner? One of my absolute favourite things that me and my partner have started doing is incorporating more seasonal dates into our lives.

This makes things so fun, especially because we both spend so much time working it’s sometimes hard to spend good quality time together.

I’m a firm believer that the best dates are the ones that cost very little. I really am happiest walking around a woodlands together, or exploring new bookshops, cities and cafes.

There’s really nothing that can go wrong when your main priority is spending quality time.

But spring marks a pretty special time. For some it means new beginnings, for others its a chance to incorporate more nature into their lives. Either way it marks a transition from the cold and grey days to a sudden- much, much welcome- burst of colour.

The date ideas that were once so perfect in winter, cuddling up under fairy lights and mountains of blankets, suddenly aren’t quite right anymore. Now it’s time to switch up your old dating activities for something that incorporates the spring ways. It’s finally time to switch off your heating and go outside.

This post is all about the absolute best, cute spring date ideas to try this season.

1. Berry picking

Amongst many other berries, strawberries tend to ripen just in time for Spring. Many places offer seasonal produce picking, think pumpkins in Autumn. Picking your own berries is a chance to soak up some sunshine and spend some time in nature. These berries can then be turned into a pie, jam or put on top of yoghurt for a simple spring breakfast.

2. Outdoor food market

Yum. As soon as the weather gets warmer you will find me trying all the food trucks in sight. I’m addicted. I love outdoor food vendors. Food tastes so much better from a truck, or a tent. It’s science, baby, you can’t argue with it.

3. Drive in movie night

A lot of cities offer drive in movie nights. These tend to go two ways, either you sit in your trunk wrapped in blankets, or you bring a camping chair and pull up close to the big screen. Movies in the park are a great hit for anyone who wants to combine their love of movies with adapting to the spring months.

4. Mini golf

I won mini golf for potentially the first ever time last time I went. Turns out I’m equally as terrible a winner as I am a loser, and I’m not sure I’ll have a mini golf partner for a long time. Mini golf is best played outdoors, although can also be indoors if you’re facing a particularly rainy Spring.

5. Sunset picnic

A sunset picnic is the kind of moment in a movie that makes me question why I never have picnics at sunset, under a cherry blossom tree, with chocolate covered strawberries. Then I remember, I’m in control of my reality and if I want a sunset picnic all I need to do is go on one. Which is definitely what I’ll be doing this spring.

6. Bike ride

cute spring date ideas

For couples who enjoy exercising together, bike rides can be a great way to spend more quality time with each other. It means you can spend more time outside appreciating the spring weather, and experience new bike routes. This one could be easily paired with a picnic.

7. Farmer’s market

Making dinner from seasonal produce not only has a positive impact on the local economy but makes food 10x more delicious.

8. Evening stroll at sunset

cute spring date ideas

Thereโ€™s something about an evening walk in spring that feels quietly romantic. The air is softer, the light is golden, and everything feels a little less rushed. Itโ€™s the kind of date where conversation flows naturally, no pressure, no plans, just walking side by side and letting the day wind down together.

9. Pottery and sip

Some pottery painting places offer pottery and sip nights which is exactly what it sounds like and just as fun. Typically you bring your own wine and choose a pottery piece to paint. A fun way to do this is to paint a plate or a mug for each other. With that you get a keep sake to remember the date forever.

10. Rooftop drinks

spring dates

Rooftop bars always remind me of being on holiday, removed from work-a-day problems. Sipping cocktails in roof top bars is pure bliss, and I can’t wait to do this again this spring. My partner doesn’t currently drink, so this is definitely more of a girlfriend date. The only thing better than sipping tangy margaritas with your boyfriend is sipping margaritas with your girls. A bar I love does frozen Margaritas from a slushie machine, it’s the perfect cool down, slow drinking beverage.

11. Star gazing

cute spring date ideas

Spring nights are finally warm enough to sit outside without regretting your life choices. Grab a blanket, lie back, and look up. You donโ€™t need to know the names of the constellations for it to be special- although pretending you do is half the fun. Itโ€™s simple, calm, and surprisingly intimate.

12. Arcade night

I love arcade dates. I’m a sucker for the one penny machines; I don’t know what it is but I find them so addicting. I think this date encourages child like fun and enjoyment, which sometimes we, as adults, need desperately. It’s okay to have child like fun.

13. Car boot sale

Okay, truth time. I hateee car boot sales. I never find anything I like and I always end up following my partner around like a lost puppy. He adores them, so this one made the list for those of you like him.

14. BBQ

As soon as the weather allows it, a BBQ feels like a celebration. Whether itโ€™s just the two of you or a group of friends, cooking and eating outside instantly makes an ordinary evening feel special. Spring BBQs are low effort, relaxed, and food always taste better in the open air.

15. Go for ice cream

cute spring date ideas

A classic for a reason. Spring is the perfect excuse to stop for ice cream in the park, or at an ice cream shop. Get as many scoops as you can eat, the weather will get cold again so eat all you can now.

16. Hike

cute spring date ideas

For couples who love being outdoors, a spring hike is hard to beat. Everything feels fresh and green, and itโ€™s a great way to disconnect from screens and reconnect with each other. Pack snacks, take your time, and enjoy the fact that the journey matters just as much as the destination.
